Friends for Families, is sponsoring our 1st program addressing childhood obesity called "The 21 Day Fitness Challenge"! The program is designed to develop fun healthy exercise habits for children, which will lead to a healthy life style. Our goal is to bring awareness to the serious health problem of childhood obesity. In doing so we're offering this challenging, but fun program to assist our youth of today with starting good exercise habits that will lead to a healthy lifestyle. Childhood obesity has nearly quintupled from 4% to 19% over the last 30 years, and the greatest increase has been among children ages 6 - 11.
Research shows that it takes 21 days to develop a habit. That's 21 days of going to the gym every day or exercising in some way every day, and 21 days of eating healthy. When starting a habit, don't tell yourself you're doing it for life, tell yourself (your conscious brain) that you are going to try it for 21 days.
Program is absolutely free and we're looking to sign up children 6 - 11 years old.
Program will be held at 1010 North Moore Road, (Brainerd Complex) starting on April 11 at 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm Monday thru Friday. Program will continue every day except weekends for 3 weeks ending Monday April 25th.
