Who is felt among you that saw the Church in her first glory? And how do you see it now? 'Yet the glory of this latter Church shall be greater than the former. Because there are many who aren’t here to give contribution, there may be many names and events omitted because of lack of knowledge.

However the now Galilee Church of God in Christ was formerly known as the Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ. It was located in Mt. Zion Community a few miles northward.

Elder Jessie James who was among the first believers of the holiness movement in the year of 1927 moved lumber from the Sandy Community and built the Holiness of Sanctified Church in the rural areas, on the late Brother John Mocks’ property. There were at that time only three members, Elder Jessie James, his sister Rosie James Scott, and Mrs. Nancy Walker.

Later this Church was rebuilt on the James property, being under the leadership of at that time Elder A. C. Harris and then the late I. C. Cooper and many souls were added. Many have passed on and others now live in nearby towns and cities.
