We will take pride in our community and treat all people with respect, compassion and understanding with an emphasis on fairness. The Galion Police Department has new ideas and projects on the horizon. In order to better serve the needs of our customers, we have created a citizen survey; although it is quite lengthy we feel we need to collect this information so we can ensure that our department values are in tune with the values of our customers. Without the your input we are playing a guessing game of how we respond to the needs of the community. Within this web page you will find this survey, please take a few minutes and fill it out so we can evaluate our service delivery and improve upon your suggestions.

The City of Galion is looking at either building or renovating an existing structure to improve the safety service (police, fire, courts) departments. Currently we have outgrown these facilities, and cannot provide all the necessary services that the citizens of Galion expect. This is a project that will require outside funding sources, but we hope we will be in another facility within the next 2-3 years.

Another project that takes precedence is continuing to keep our officers in the neighborhoods and off the station while they write their reports. In an effort to become a paperless department all of our cruiser will become equipped with laptop computers, which will enable officers to do the majority of their reports out in the field. This will give the officers a greater opportunity to become more visible in our neighborhoods.
