About Us:
MJWC Members support the arts, preserve natural resources, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, stress civic involvement, and work toward peace and understanding in the Marlborough community. The MJWC has been a vital part of our community service corps for over forty years. Throughout these years, a wide variety of projects have been made possible through the financial and volunteer services provided by our club.
In addition to underwriting the cost of two annual scholarships and sponsoring the citywide Marlborough Public Schools Fourth Grade Spelling Bee, MJWC provides ongoing financial support and personal service hours to organizations, throughout the city, including the MESF, the Marlborough Senior Center, Marlborough Public Library, the Marlborough Boys & Girls Club, The Evening of Giving, the food pantry and many more local and state organizations. All of the money MJWC raises goes directly to community service projects.
The MJWC is a member General Federation of Women's Clubs International and receives support and assists in national volunteerism as well. Americans have recently recognized the need to unite and support each other whether it be locally or nationally. Each club member pays annual dues to cover our operating costs, but donates her time and energies to assure our community has the services it needs.
Our Marlborough volunteer community services include:
Marlborough Boys and Girls Club
Holiday Helper
Evening of Giving
Horatio Alger Fair
MHS Scholarship funding
Marlborough School Music Association
Senior Centers
Libraries 2000 and beyond
Linus Project
Operation Smile
Supporting local shelters like the One Family Campaign is a great way for us to give back to the community!
