Girls Incorporated of Greater Lowell inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold. Through creative programs in a safe and nurturing environment, we strive to teach the independence and personal responsibility girls need to succeed. We provide quality enrichment programs after school, during summer and holiday breaks, for girls between the ages of 5 and 18.

Girls Incorporated of Greater Lowell has been in continuous existence since 1917 and operating at its present site since 1945, the same year it became a founding member of Girls Clubs of America, Inc. In 1990, the national organization changed its name to Girls Incorporated to better reflect the seriousness and educational value of its mission.

Girls Incorporated offers an innovative, research-based program in the out-of-school hours that values the potential of young people. Our philosophy and programming are designed to equip girls with valuable skills and resources, to prevent unhealthy behaviors, and to compensate for educational, cultural, and recreational activities our members frequently do not get at home or in school. We work with girls to boost their self-esteem, increase their interest in math, science, and technology, promote literacy, explore arts and humanities, encourage them to get into sports, introduce them to money management and career development, reduce pregnancy risk, direct them away from drug use, and provide them with a variety of skills and interests that will help them positively in the future.
