Loved by God

We believe we are all beloved by God and we each have our own faith story to tell. Each of us has value to God and each other. We welcome all into our faith community because we understand that with God there are no limitations on compassion, grace, love, or acceptance.

Disciples of Christ

While we identify as Disciples of Christ (Christian Church), we also know that our way is not the only way to worship and love God. We value other traditions, denominations, and expressions of faith. Many of our folks come from non-Disciple traditions, and we consider that a rich heritage.

Able to express our faith

God has given all of us ways to express our faith and serve others. This is a very important tradition at Good Shepherd; worship and service. It is through these aspects of worship and service we best are able to express our love for God and receive God's love for us. We welcome a variety of expressions so we may be a vibrant and diverse group of believers in God.

All ministers

All those who participate in the life of the church are "ministers." In other words, we are partners and equals, living out our faith together. While we have an ordained minister who participates in the life of the church in a unique way, all of us are able to share our gifts, voice our needs and concerns, interpret scripture, teach, and lead in worship. We have been worshiping and serving Blue Springs since 1981 and have been at our present location on Woods Chapel Road in Blue Springs since 1984.
