About Our School:
Goshen Elementary School first opened its doors in August of 1979 with and enrollment of 450 students. The school colors are green and yellow, and the school mascot is The Gator.

Today, Goshen Elementary is home to more than 730 students, and is led by Candace Sellars, principal. Goshen has moved into a new facility in the Hillcrest subdivision. Students and staff are excited about the new building and its state of the art technology.

Goshen Elementary provides a comprehensive curriculum for students in Primary through Fifth grade. The curriculum is built around Kentucky's Core Content Guidelines and the Kentucky Elementary Learning Profile.

Goshen Elementary provides a full range of services for students to support their learning needs. The first year primary students (kindergarten) remain together during their first year of school. The second and third year primary students (traditionally called 1st and 2nd grade) are combined together and remain with the same teacher for two years in a self-contained classroom setting. The last year primary students (3rd grade) and 4th grade students are also combined and remain with their teacher for two years. The 3rd/4th grades classes are known as the Transition classes. Fifth Grade students have their own classrooms where they are able to take-on many leadership roles in the school. This arrangement allows us to provide a secure and nurturing environment for our young students while also forming a strong relationship with parents to ensure that individual needs are met.

Goshen Elementary continues to build strong partnerships between school, home, and the broader Goshen community to provide the best possible learning experience for our children. Through this cooperative venture, our students will learn to make wise decisions regarding their future, acquire the confidence, courage and tenacity necessary to find solutions to difficult problems, and remain acutely aware of the rights and needs of their community.
