Our Church:
Grace Lutheran Church and School has been a witness for Christ in Auburn for 48 years. The Word of God in doctrine and practice has been the center of Grace since its beginning. Every Lord's Day, Christ's forgiveness is proclaimed, and God's people respond with joy.
God has blessed His people here and spread His kingdom through the Gospel and the administration of the priceless Sacraments.
Christian instruction of youth and adults has also been a key mark of Grace since its beginning. Grace has always maintained a Lutheran School which remains energetic today.
Grace, Auburn, lives today because of the Holy Spirit who works powerfully to bring people to faith in Christ. He began this Lutheran congregation in AuburnGrace Lutheran Church is a congregation with a Christ-centered ministry reflecting historic Lutheran theology. We take seriously our heritage as Lutheran Christians and believe our Lutheran identity is a unsurpassed benefit.
We joyfully use to the fullest the worship resources of our hymnal and liturgical tradition as Lutheran Christians. We are committed to a weekly celebration of Holy Communion. We consider the distinctive nature of our Lutheran identity to be a commitment to the Word of God, a vital and dynamic sacramental life, a vibrant musical life in the liturgy, a concern for the welfare and well-being of the whole person, and a shared accountability to the Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
We have a mix of people and ages including families with small children. This diverse group helps us to maintain a full liturgical setting for worship without being stiff or rigid. We have gifted staff people and are confident you will find a welcome home among the people of Grace Lutheran Church.
Gospel centered in preaching and teaching, conservative and Biblical in doctrine, and caring of people -- that is how we see ourselves.
The congregation's name is Grace. This refers to the undeserved mercy and love of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Grace is the gift of eternal life and the highest doctrine of the Christian faith. For the last 46 years the name Grace has rightly described how God has given Himself and cared for us.
Only God knows how many hearts have been mended and souls refreshed and lives renewed by Jesus here. Grace has had five pastors in its history, but it is the lay people who are God's building blocks of the church. We couldn't have come this far without the devotion, service, and confidence in Christ seen in our people.
We realize that what began in 1959 with a Lutheran congregation in Auburn has not ended. The Lord's work must be renewed among us again. Our prayer is that you will be part of an exciting future with us.
