The Greenwood Memorial Swim Club is a non-profit corporation whose first commitment is to the needs of all swimmers. GMSC develops and administers pre-competitive and competitive swimming programs for individuals of all ages from Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. It strives to provide the necessary skills and positive environment that will enable and encourage each of its athletes to attain their highest potential. The emphasis is placed on desire, discipline, determination, integrity, and confidence. The club not only prepares our athletes to successfully encounter the challenges of the sport, but also fosters important life skills and the building of strong personal character, that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
GMSC includes among its current and former members many national level swimmers- among them 2000 Olympic Gold Medallist, Samantha Arsenault.
The home of GMSC is The Greenwood Memorial Bath House. It opened in 1915 and is one of the oldest pools in New England and the U.S. It has served the residents of Gardner, Massachusetts and the surrounding communities for many years and continues to be an important facet of the City of Gardner.
In addition, GMSC is proud to offer swimming programs in Keene, NH at Keene State College as well as at Ascutney Mountain Resort in Brownsville, VT. As in Gardner, GMSC-Keene and GMSC-Ascutney, formerly the KSC Valley Gators, have served the residents of Keene, New Hampshire and the surrounding communities for many years.
