The Grundy Family YMCA started in 2003 as a branch of the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County.  The Grundy Center branch has a local board of directors who sets policies and keeps the YMCA in touch with the needs of the community.  Staff and volunteers at the Y play important roles in program development and implementation.  Through our partnership with the Grundy Center School District, many YMCA services and programs are offered inside the Grundy Center School.  

Our 3,500 square foot fitness center is located inside the Grundy Center High School.  This facility is used daily by YMCA members (see Facility Hours below) and the Physical Education department.  Childcare programs are offered in the Upper Elementary school year round with Before & After School Care, School’s Out Fun Days and Summer Day Camp. 

Adult and Youth fitness activities are offered at the Upper Elementary school building in the second floor Fitness Studios.  Other areas the YMCA offers programming include: the Grundy Center Elementary, Upper Elementary and High School gymnasiums; football field, George E. Wilhelm Sports Complex, Grundy Center city parks and the AmericInn swimming pool.
