About the District :

The Gustine Unified School District covers an area of 224 miles and is made up of five schools whose focus is student achievement. The five schools are; Gustine High School, Gustine Middle School, Gustine Elementary School, Pioneer Continuation School and Romero Elementary School located in Santa Nella, CA.The focus on student achievement has been implemented through the strategic plan created by the stakeholders of the district. Strategic Planning is a process whereby an organization can systematically reorganize and re-invent itself to achieve “extraordinary purpose.” To achieve “extraordinary” a district must go beyond what they were and what they have traditionally done to continually improve student learning. The Strategic Plan is the point of emphasis behind the district’s plan to make the Gustine Unified School District an “extraordinary” school district. Many people contributed to the development of our Strategic Plan. Through the collaborative efforts of teachers, administration, staff, parents, and community members we have begun to move the Gustine Unified School District to a higher place where student achievement is the primary element of the district’s success. The success of any organization is a direct result of collaborative relationships, and positive contributions, of the stakeholders of the organization. This Strategic Plan is being implemented by an even larger force of people making a positive contribution toward student academic success. The most significant and important improvement has been in student achievement. In the past year all school sites showed improvement on the state test (STAR) and improved their Academic Performance Index (API). Romero Elementary and the Middle School showed a dramatic increase in their test scores. The Strategic Plan is the driving force to improve student achievement.
