Protection is provided from three stations utilizing 4 engines, 1 Heavy Rescue, 3 dedicated medical response units and several specialty units.Most of the department staff is Part-time (Paid on-call).To provide safer firefighter staffing levels during day-time emergencies we have 7 firefighters scheduled including 4 full-time personnel that are firefighter/medical first responders in addition to their administrative tasks.
For the fastest medical intervention, all Hartland apparatus are licensed and equipped for emergency medical response. Five Automatic External Defibrillators (AED's) are in use one at each station and 2 on roving units for rapid response to cardiac emergencies.
We are responsible for fire protection and emergency medical response for Hartland and Deerfield Townships for a total coverage of 73 square miles.
