Healthy Malden, Inc. (HMI) is a unique public/private community-based coalition founded in 1993. The mission of HMI is to improve the health of Malden residents by fostering citizen and agency collaboration aimed at the city's priority health issues. As deemed by its mission, HMI conducts and maintains a comprehensive assessment of the health status of residents and obtains broad public consensus about priority concerns. The coalition encourages collaboration among public and private sector organizations, community groups, and residents to work together to address these concerns. HMI is also committed to identifying and attracting new resources to help improve the health and well being of all residents within the community, regardless of age, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or educational background.
