Heartland Hospice is an organization that provides a unique type of care to patients with limited life expectancy and to their loved ones. Hospice emphasizes quality rather than length of life. We focus on the entire person, their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Volunteers play a vital role in the care of hospice patients. Most time spent with patients is friendly visits. This can be reading to the patient, doing an activity together, or just sitting quietly and visiting. Our volunteers find this type of work to be very rewarding, and many have been volunteering for years.
