Our History

A number of books and booklets on deliverance have been compiled by Win Worley, pastor of Hegewisch Baptist Church, Highland, Indiana. Beginning in 1970, these accounts of casting out evil spirits in a church Body Ministry have been spread over the United States and many foreign countries.

Late in 1970 the ministry of deliverance was introduced in the Hegewisch Baptist Church by Pastor Worley. Within a year, an amazing 1,000 first time visitors were streaming into the small church annually, although there was no publicity except word-of-mouth. Since that time, there has been no slackening in the flow of visitors coming from around the world to receive and learn to minister deliverance from evil spirits.

We Believe

That the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind, and the supreme and final authority in faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16-17)

In one holy, almighty God, the creator of all things, eternally existing in three co-equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; John 14:26)

In the reality and personality of Satan, demons and fallen angels, as the enemies of God, the saints and God’s holy angels. (Job 1:6-12)

That man was created in the image of God; that he sinned through the fall and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; that all human beings are therefore born with a sinful nature, incapable of pleasing God and utterly lost. (Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Isaiah 64:6)

That the Lord Jesus Christ has existed eternally, begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, is the eternal Son of God, the God-man, perfect in His divinity, perfect in His humanity and God Himself. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-3,14,18)

That the Lord Jesus Christ physically died for our sins as the perfect substitute, redeeming us by His precious blood. (Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 2:2; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

The literal resurrection of the crucified body of the Lord Jesus Christ; His ascension into heaven, and His personal, bodily presence there at the right hand of the Father for us as our High Priest and Advocate. (Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14-16; John 2:1)

That the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification, sanctification and salvation; that only those who by faith and faith alone receive Him as their personal Savior and Lord are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God. (Romans 5:1; 6:10; John 1:12, 3:6-7)

That the casting out of evil spirits is not a ‘calling’, but a command from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that all believers have this authority. (Matthew 10:8, 28:20; Mark 16:17; Luke 10:19)

That the gifts of the Holy Spirit, in their proper order, are for all believers to receive, enjoy, grow and participate in. (1 Corinthians 1: 4-7; 1 Corinthians 12-14)

That the Church, which is the Body of Christ, is composed of all born again believers , represented in local churches, meeting in buildings or homes, under the Headship of Christ. (Ephesians 1:22-23)

In the personal, bodily, visible and imminent return of our glorified Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; that this blessed hope has a vital bearing upon the personal life and service of the believer. (Acts 1:9-11; Titus 2:11-14)

That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; to convict of sin, righteousness and judgment; to regenerate those who receive Christ by faith; to indwell, instruct, sanctify, fill and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 16:7-14; Acts 1:8)

That at death, all individuals continue in conscious existence until they are resurrected. The believer will be resurrected unto everlasting happiness, the unbeliever unto eternal punishment. (Revelation 19:20; Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:11-15)
