Hertford County Public Schools consists of five schools located in Ahoskie and Murfreesboro with an Alternative Learning Center in Winton.  Each of our schools is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.  A comprehensive curriculum, based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, is offered for all students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade.

Our system employees approximately 620 staff members, including teachers, teacher assistants, office personnel, custodians, food service, transportation, maintenance, and Central Office.
