Highcrest Middle School serves a population of over 800 children who reside within District #39. These are friendly and respectful children who value education. The students have many interests and are involved in a wide array of extracurricular activities. The certified teaching staff is 75 strong working as 5th and 6th grade homeroom teachers, foreign languages, art, music technology and media services, special education services, curriculum differentiation, and physical education.

Highcrest Middle School includes 16 5th grade classes that work in 4 teacher "houses" and 18 6th grade classes that work in 2 teacher teams. Both parents and faculty share in the combined responsibility of the development of the whole child, committed to meet each individual's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs; the faculty continue to acknowledge and individualize both the emotional and educational needs of each child.
