The Highland County Public Schools shall provide every student with the opportunity to a quality education that prepares them for post-secondary education or technical training, and/or employment; operate effectively and efficiently, and in accordance with local and state expectations, and collaborate with home and other agencies to facilitate recreational activities, educational activities, and economic development activities for the community.
Goals:
Improve student academic and vocational learning and achievement as measured by a variety of predetermined indicators.
Assure students the opportunity, support and direction required to master the essential skills as outlined in the standards of learning and provide opportunities to participate in higher level learning and enrichment.
Align policy, personnel, and resources within the division, to meet the goals and objectives of the school division.
Provide safe, caring, structured, healthy, esthetically pleasing environment based upon mutual respect, shared leadership and management and individual responsibility.
Provide effective and efficient services that integrate and teach technology skills and expand learning beyond the school walls.
Improve communications within the school community and the community at-large.
