History :

Holcomb recreation commission has been in existence since 1978.

We have come a long way since the first office located in the old post office back room. We moved to the indoor swimming pool instructors office, then to a closet area in the old high school. We spent two years in a mobile home the school district brought in for the grade school classrooms. In 1983 we were able to build the front part of the community center. The school board gave us permission to take anything we needed from the old high school to build the community center before it would be torn down.
