At The Hope Health Clinic, patients receive medical and dental services that are needed and develop the skills necessary to successfully manage their overall health.
History: The original Hope Health Clinic was founded in 1990 in the basement of St. George's Episcopal Church. Local doctors donated their time during lunch breaks helping the Clinic's nurses. The focus was on the treatment of conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes. As the clinic outgrew the church basement, it moved across the street into new quarters and remained there until moving to its present location in late 2011.
In 1999 the Spalding County Board of Health founded a "walk in" clinic to provide medical care for uninsured citizens at its building on Memorial Drive. In addition, the Board created a Dental Clinic operating in the same building.
It soon became obvious that the clinics were caring for some of the same patients with different conditions. In January 2011 Boards of all three clinics were successful in merging together to form one joint operation now known as The Hope Health Clinic of Spalding County.
Today, the clinics are operating as one seamless whole and have noticeably enhanced and improved the health care services for the uninsured population of our community.
