There is a large selection of retail stores, including specialty clothing, gift boutiques, jewelry and factory outlet malls, a great selection of restaurants, including full-service, locally owned locations, cafeterias and a number of nationally known fast food establishments.
The recently completed six-screen, all-stadium seat, state-of-the-art digital Starplex Cinema 6 and the new, 110,000 sq.ft. Lowe's Home Improvement store that opened just this month; the Factory Stores of America outlet mall and Wal*Mart Supercenter are more good reasons why Sulphur Springs has become a major retail trade zone drawing from an area of approximately 60,000 to 70,000 potential shoppers.
Our community is very children oriented, and our school system encourages parental participation in all grade levels. Our Chamber has sponsored several child related organizations and activities over the past few years including a "High School Leadership" class for selected senior students, the "Texas Scholars" program in high school, "Teen Court" and a unique program introducing school children to stringed instruments from elementary school through high school.
