The Mountain Shelter is operated by the Humane Society of Towns & Union Counties in the northeast Georgia mountains. Its hours are Monday-Saturday 10:30am to 4pm.   

Its thrift shops in Blairsville and Hiawassee are operated by volunteers to support the Mountain Shelter.  Both are open Monday-Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm.
