About Us

The Humane Society of Highlands County, Sebring, Florida, is a non-profit service organization dedicated to the care and well-being of animals.

Our mission is to offer refuge, nourishment and an opportunity for a second chance for life to unwanted cats and dogs; to protect animals from cruelty, neglect, carelessness and ignorance; to foster public sentiment of humanity and gentleness toward all animals through education and encouragement; and to promote the lifelong commitment of responsible pet ownership.

We are funded entirely from memberships, fundraisers, wills, bequests and private donations
