About Us:
Hyde County is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners who bear the responsibility of serving the people and improving the quality of life in the county. The county is divided into five townships (Currituck, Fairfield, Lake Landing, Ocracoke and Swan Quarter) with one commissioner elected from each township. The Board serves four year staggered terms with elections held every two years. A County Manager, hired by the Commissioners, acts on their behalf.
