First conceived, and then constructed at the site of SD Hurley's Cement Block Plant in 1928, the Independent Fire Co #1 of Spring Lake Heights has always and continues to provide the very best in fire, rescue, and support services to the residents and visitors of the Borough of Spring Lake Heights. Starting with a single fire engine at it's inception we now  utilize and maintain three, engines, a tower ladder, a rescue, as well as a haz-mat decon trailer, and chief / command vehicle. 

Through hard work, dedication, and professionalism of our members, we continuously strive to be better, more efficient, and safer protectors of our community. The finest traditions and values of the fire service live on today, passed through from generation to generation of our firefighters. The fire fighters of the Spring Lake Heights Independent Fire Co #1 are your neighbors, your electricians, your carpenter, your police officer, and even your landscaper. Organized, led, and operated by volunteers who live in the community, we have no larger asset to protect than the people, property, and community of which we have always been a part.
