In 1956 over dinner at Ruby’s Restaurant in Palm Springs, Paul and Isabelle Prom and Jean Susala first discussed the idea to build Coachella Valley’s third golf and country club. For founders Desi Arnaz, Paul Prom, Eddie Susalla, Linn Johnson, Earl Murphy, Milt Hicks, Bill Worthing and John Curci the concept to build a nine-hole private club surrounded by houses for Members to use as their home away from home in the desert seemed ideal. Within a week, 50 acres of land was purchased at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains and Indian Wells Country Club was put on the map.
Indian Wells Country Club was started by celebrities and throughout the years continues to be a celebrity playground. Presently, Indian Wells Country Club has grown to include 36 challenging golf holes situated on the Classic and Cove Courses. The holes provide picturesque views of the mountains and natural desert landscaping, making golf experiences at Indian Wells Country Club not only enjoyable, but also memorable.
