In 1907 Mr. Eugene Fay left Newark, New Jersey with the intention of building an Inn in Northern Wayne County, PA. Although Starlight Lake was not his original location, he quickly fell in love with Starlight Lake and its surroundings and in 1909 the Inn at Starlight Lake was opened to the public. The Inn remains a favored destination in the region and its 100th Anniversary in 2009 will be marked with several celebrations.
After the passing of Mr. Fay shortly before the grand opening of the Inn in 1909, his widow operated the Inn until 1915 when her son purchased her interests in the Inn and took over the day-to-day management. The Inn remained in the Fay family until 1974 when Jack and Judy McMahon from New York City purchased the Inn. The Schwartz's are only the third owners of the Inn in its 100 year history.
Current owners, James and Sari Schwartz have been the Inn's proprietors since 2005 and are excited about being part of its rich and interesting history. Prior to purchasing the Inn at Starlight Lake, Sari and Jimmy came to the Inn regularly. It holds a special place in their hearts and a special place in the hearts of their guests.
