Mission Statement:
The mission of J. R. Baker Elementary School is to provide each student a diverse education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation, and excellence in learning.
Beliefs:
1. All students have the potential to learn and achieve.
2. Students, families, teachers, and the community form strong, active partnerships and hold high expectations of success.
3. Students should accept responsibility for appropriate conduct.
4. We believe in an integrated curriculum, using a collaborative effort, to demonstrate the relevance of each subject.
5. The lowest possible student-teacher ratio should be provided to ensure academic success of students.
6. Opportunities should be provided for students to reach their maximum potential in all academic areas so that they can become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and collaborative workers.
7. A positive atmosphere of learning should be created in which students of all levels, needs, and cultural backgrounds fell physically and emotionally safe.
8. After given opportunities, everyone is accountable for their own success.
