Joe's Trees

Joe's Trees planted its first evergreen seedling in 1962. Since that time, families from throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and as far away of Texas and Florida  have made a tradition of starting their holiday season by spending a day at  farm and cutting their own Christmas tree.

Farm owner Sue Bostic said that "raising Christmas trees was by accident." It seems that when her dad purchased the farm, he  helped his children plant evergreen  trees as a 4-H project. Five hundred seedlings were planted that year. A few years later, word got out that Joe Sublett had a field of beautiful pine trees. With many acres of vacant fields to cultivate, he  planted more trees year after year. Soon he had over 100,000 trees planted and Joe's Trees was established. From that point on evergreen trees have been planted every year and the growth of Joe's Trees extend far beyond a few pine seedlings.

A farm that has survived staying in business certainly deserve to celebrate.

Over this period of time our farm has  built a legacy that can't be measured in material possessions, but rather the lives we have touched and those who have touched our lives through this business. Family, friends, business associates, neighbors, community supporters, extended families and the reach goes on and on

Exciting things are happening at Joe's Trees. We are renovating, renewing and expanding.
