The Juneau Public Libraries is a division of the Administration Department of the City and Borough of Juneau. The Juneau Public Libraries consists of three branches, the Downtown Branch (located atop the parking garage on the waterfront), the Mendenhall Valley Branch (located in the Mendenhall Mall) and the Douglas Branch (located in the Douglas Community Building, a shared facility with the Fire Department). All library staff offices are located at the Downtown Branch.
The Juneau Public Libraries operate in conjunction with the Capital City Libraries consortium, consisiting of all the Juneau Public Libraries branches, the Egan Library (UAS), the Juneau-Douglas High School Library, and the State Library (in the State Office Building). A card obtained at any one of these facilities will allow you to check out materials at all facilities. Items may also be returned to any of the facilities so long as the items were checked out at one of the Capital City Libraries facilities.
