Kanalani Ohana Farm is a beautiful bit of agro-jungle in Honaunau on the Kona side of the island of Hawaii. We are at 1600 feet with a gorgeous view of the ocean and Kealakekua Bay. Our steep hillsides and ravines are covered with coffee trees as old as 80 years, grandfather avocado trees, papaya, guava, taro, coconut, orange, cacao (chocolate), tamarillo (tree tomato), apple, fig, macadamia nut, and flowering trees, as well as white pineapple, ginger, poka (wild passion fruit), mulberries, black raspberries and many perennial flowers. We have vegetable gardens including the double spiral perrenial vegetable garden, a labyrinth shaped garden, the mango terrace, the Senekedugu garden with annuals in it and a sweet potato and cassava area.
On the toe of the volcano Mauna Loa, this coffee sprouted. From a flower that smells of gardenia, the coffee cherry grew in tropical morning sun and afternoon rainshowers...
Our family handpicks and sun dries the beans here on Kanalani Ohana Farm. We respect the Hawaiian goddess Pele and our Mother Earth and cultivate our trees by the highest standards of organic agriculture. Our coffee is 100% Kona and only from our farm.
We roast our beans in small quantities just before we ship for ultimate freshness. Please grind the beans when you're ready to drink your coffee and brew with pure water. Allow yourself to be inspired by the ritual of sitting down and sipping incredibly delicious, pure Kona coffee CSA Details: - Season:Year round - Type:Single farm - Since:2001 - No of Shares: 12 - Full Share: $432/year - 1/2 Share: $240/year - Work Req?
