About Us:
Katie's Dance Studio opened for business in September 1995. Katie Holmes received the contract at Ft. Leavenworth and began teaching classes through Youth Services at the Harrold Youth Center on post. She also began teaching classes in Lansing through the Lansing PTO and schools. It was after being in business for four years that Katie began to look for an alternative location for the Lansing classes. She wanted to expand the number of classes offered as well as the types of classes offered. She also wanted to serve a larger area of students.

In the fall of 1999, Katie opened the doors to her first Leavenworth location on S. 4th Street Trafficway. Katie's Dance Studio was at that location for only one year. After that first year in Leavenworth, it was obvious that more space was needed. The studio relocated to 1290 Eisenhower road on the border of Leavenworth and Lansing. This move gave Katie the opportunity to serve a larger area of students through location and facilities.

Over the past ten years, we have seen a number of students grow up, graduate, get married and even have second generation students. Many of our staff members have moved away or taken full employment elsewhere, but Katie is very proud of the fact that many of her staff members are the same dedicated teachers who helped her realize a dream. They share the same love of dance and teaching that she does. They are the ones who make each year, each recital and each student better than before.

Katie hopes to continue to expand its programs and services to better serve the Leavenworth, Ft. Leavenworth and Lansing communities. Through example, she and her staff continue to take classes, attend workshops and do everything they can to enhance the classes offered. Katie hopes that the addition of musical instrument lessons and music appreciation classes, that all students will be able to develop a lifelong love of music, acrobatics and dance.
