The King Center and Public Library was built in 1989 with funds
donated by Edd King Jr. in memory of his brother Lloyd King. Edd
was born and raised in Jetmore and after graduating from Jetmore Highschool and Kansas State University started the King Radio Co.
The north side of the building or the King Center is a community room
equipped with a full kitchen and serves a variety of functions such as
wedding receptions, family reunions, art and craft fairs, community
meetings and etc. For information, call the City Office at (620) 357-8344.
The south side is the Public Library. It is a member of the
Southwest Kansas Library System. The library offers both adult and juvenile print collection as well as video's and audio's. Other sevices offered are interlibrary
loan, bilingual and large print books, mail-a-book, rotating book van, audio
cassetteess, P.A.T. and general audience videos and BPH services. Librarian
Jacque Sherrill and volunteers offer a summer reading program for youth and
a story time for ages 3 to pre-kindergarden. Internet access and FAX are available. You are cordially invited to join Friend
