History:
Kiwanis Club Of Barstow was founded in 1926 . The club began with just a few members and has grown to its current membership of 26. Over the years, the club has held many fundraisers, including pancake breakfasts, spaghetti feeds and other events. We help out in the community in a variety of ways, including sponsoring youth groups, highway clean-ups, raising money to benefit children and children's support groups and providing scholarships. The club has enjoyed a rich history over the years, with its members coming from fields like accounting, civil service, education, management and many more. For more information about us, check out our News page and our Activities Calendar. And to see what we're doing with kids in the area, why not take a look at our Sponsored Youth page?
We are one of the oldest service clubs in the Mojave Desert. Our fund-raising activities include the Boys and Girls Club Sweetheart Drawing, an Annual Golf Tournament, Rodeo Cookout and Scholarship Dances. These activities and generous donations allow us to support projects such as Toys for Tots, food baskets, youth sports, literacy and library programs and college scholarships.
We donate our time and energy to; Make a Difference Day, BUG and Terrific Kids school programs, Adopt-A-Block and Relay for Life Kids Camp. Our oldest continuing community service project is the Mardi Gras Parade, which was first held in 1933.
Kiwanis is an organization committed to serving the children of our community and the world. We take this commitment very seriously.
