About Us:
Originally known as the Coeur d'Alene Area Amateur Radio Club, the first meeting was held April 11th, 1952. The club later reorganized as Coeur d'Alene Amateur Radio Club May 25th, 1960. On April 17, 1972 it was renamed and reorganized to better represent its member base throughout the county when the Constitution for Kootenai Amateur Radio Society was adopted.

Kootenai Amateur Radio Society (KARS)
is an organization that promotes interest in Amateur Radio communications, advances the radio art, fosters education in the field of electronic communications, and shares knowledge and information about the Amateur Radio Service with the general public.
