La Vida Mission
About Us
La Vida Mission brings the message of salvation to the Navajo community primarily through education and the health message. Medical, dental and optical clinics run by caring Christian professionals who donate their time allow the Mission to establish contact with the Navajo and help to break down the strong cultural barriers that often exist.
With the help of volunteers, the Mission has also implemented lifestyle changes in the surrounding communities to help with disease prevention. We view contact with each person as an opportunity for soul-winning. The Mission has a flourishing children's evangelism effort embodied by an elementary boarding school of over twenty students.
A Community Outreach liaison, using friendship evangelism and health education, has been added to the staff this year. This person is coordinating and organizing on-campus events and programs that promote physical, mental and spiritual health and help to develop a social connection between the Mission and the community. She cooperates with the school in developing a school/family partnership through home visiting and in-school, parent-involving activities.
La Vida Mission is also a place where other school or church groups can come to have a mission experience. There's always work to be done, and we are grateful to the many groups that continue to help us. These efforts play a key role in life at the Mission. We want your help lifting Him up to the Navajo, so that He may draw all unto Him!
