The School District of Wisconsin Dells currently serves a student enrollment of 1,664 students, with approximately 407 students in a four-year high school, 864 elementary school students, and 393 middle school students.

The District includes a geographic area of approximately 186 square miles in Sauk, Juneau, Adams, Columbia and Marquette counties.  All or part of the following municipalities are in the District: City of Wisconsin Dells and Town of Newport in Columbia County; Village of Lake Delton and Towns of Delton and Dellona in Sauk County; Town of Lyndon in Juneau County; Towns of Dell Prairie, Springville, Jackson and New Haven in Adams County; and the Town of Douglas in Marquette County.  Due to the size of the District, location of schools, and the presence of heavily traveled highways and roads, the District transports 96 percent of its students to and from school.

The Wisconsin Dells area is the premier vacation destination in the Midwest.  The equalized valuation of the District is over $2.2 billion.  The high equalized value per pupil results in the District receiving approximately 10% of its revenues from the State of Wisconsin.  Annual District expenditures exceed 19 million dollars.

The District has three neighborhood elementary schools.  Neenah Creek Elementary School is located in Briggsville, eleven miles east of Wisconsin Dells, and serves kindergarten through fifth grade students.  Lake Delton Elementary School is located in the Village of Lake Delton and serves 4-year-old kindergarten through fifth grade students.  Spring Hill Elementary School is located in the City of Wisconsin Dells and serves early childhood through fifth grade students.   All three elementary schools participate in Wisconsin’s Achievement Gap Reduction (AGR) program, which provides the District with additional state funding to reduce class size in kindergarten through third grade classrooms. 

The District has one middle school, Spring Hill Middle School, which serves students in grades six through eight. The District operates one high school, Wisconsin Dells High School, which serves students in grades nine through twelve. 

The School District of Wisconsin Dells has a diverse student population.  Nearly 30 percent of the District’s students are non-white.  About 7 percent of the District’s enrollment is comprised of Native American students, most of which are members of the Ho Chunk Nation.  Almost 18 percent of the District’s students are Hispanic and a little more than 1 percent are Black.  Approximately 53 percent of the District’s students qualify for free or reduce-priced meals because they come from homes that are considered economically disadvantaged.   

Like most Wisconsin school districts, the School District of Wisconsin Dells has experienced a recent growth in its non-English speaking student enrollment, and currently 170 students receive English Language Learner services. Most of those students have Spanish as their primary language, but the District also has a number of students who have languages from Eastern Europe as their primary language. There are 8 languages spoken in the District.
