Who We Are
Lakeside Church officially launched in the spring of 2002. In the short amount of time since then, we have seen God do mighty things as He continues to establish us in our community of Syracuse.
You can discern a good deal about someone by examining those things that matter the most to them - and Lakeside Church is no different. So we have asked ourselves, "What is it that really matters to us? What is it that we would defend to the very end? When we answered those hard questions, the answers began to shape who we are.
We are a family of faith that is committed to loving God more and more.
When Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment of all, his reply was simple and yet revealing. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind". The foundation for living life to the fullest is loving God. So at lakeside Church we lead people on a life journey of getting to know God and learning to love Him.
We are a family of faith that is committed to caring for and loving each other, no matter what!
Jesus said that the second greatest commandment is that we love our neighbor as we love ourselves. We have discovered that we cannot say we love God and then not care for those that God loves so deeply. So at Lakeside we lead people into committed, caring relationships with one another. We are a family of believers learning to love God - and people matter to us because people matter to God.
We are a family of believers that is committed to serving the world with the skills, gifts and other resources God has given us..
Many refer to passages known as the Great Commission as the next greatest command. In these passages Jesus emphasized the need to be always being witnesses of Jesus' death and resurrection as the basis for our own personal forgiveness and our hope for all eternity. But Jesus also was committed to meeting others at their point of need so He might be heard as He spoke of God the Father and His great love for us. To this end, Lakeside is a family of believers who are committed to serving the world, to meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of others in a world that has grown out of touch with God.
