Lakeview Consolidated School District was formed when Battle Creek area Districts three, six and ten joined in 1920. The District officially welcomed students on September 19 of 1921 and celebrated its first commencement ceremonies in 1924 with six students in the graduating class.
Since that time, Lakeview School District has grown from a one-building District of eight classrooms housing 160 students and six staff members to a District of six educational facilities serving over 3,700 students through the commitment of over 400 staff.
The District has excelled academically and athletically over its 87-year history. Lakeview’s history boasts the District as being one of the first in the nation to employ a school nurse and operate a school lunch program in support of student well being and learning. The District’s mighty Spartan athletes have also celebrated both state and regional athletic championships during its 87-year history.
Today, Lakeview offers educational opportunities and programming for students, staff and community members as driven by their mission to develop healthy, socially responsible, knowledgeable citizens in the global society.
