In the 1870's, pioneers of the area gathered in the natural loop formed by the meandering James River to relax from the rigorous life of the day. The gatherings continued and the LaMoure County Memorial Park was dedicated to the war veterans of LaMoure County in 1924. The auditorium was constructed the same year to serve as a center for countywide events, political gatherings, eighth grade graduations and church services.
In 1972, after standing unused for several years, the idea of using the auditorium's stage for presenting a summer theatre came to Rod Zimmerman, then music teacher at the LaMoure School. The building received a good cleaning by the first cast, and though the audiences were small, they were enthusiastic. Now, the participants presenting the shows and the audiences enjoying the fun continue to return to make this upcoming season our 33rd season of providing quality entertainment for the entire family. We thank you for spending time with us and hope you want to return.
Below is a list of some of the productions presented on the LCSMT stage this past season and the previous 32 seasons.
