The photo above is the Green Power fields in Weston, off of Merriam St. by the old brush dump. This is some of the best agricultural land in the town, and this year we are farming it from fencerow to fencerow as they say. We usually have some low-maintenance crops like pumpkins and squash on these fields, about two miles from our main farm on Wellesley Street. This year we have expanded our production to meet the needs of our retail stand, CSA shareholders and our farmers' market stall at Davis Square, Somerville on Wednesdays.

Green Power is our youth program where middle school kids work on the farm during the summer and after school in the spring and the fall. These town-owned fields are where Bill McElwain started it all 35 years ago. In 1991, the Green Power program asked to become a part of Land's Sake and we've continued to work with young people to raise vegetables and donate produce to local area food banks
