Mission:

The mission of Largo High School is to ensure that all students acquire the information; the skills and the ability to apply their knowledge towards become lifelong learners and productive citizens in a diverse and global society. 

This mission is best accomplished through a structure of child centered learning communities characterized by: equity and access to a quality education that includes strong instructional leadership; high expectations for the achievement of all students; a rigorous curriculum; frequent monitoring of student performance; extending learning opportunities for students failing to meet academic standards; well trained, certified teachers in all classrooms; enhanced resources; families who are empowered to assist in providing a quality education for every child; a school climate conducive to building positive relationships; and a safe and orderly school environment fostering enhanced school pride.

The vision of Largo High School is that all of our students will become life-long learners and productive citizens in a global society. We combine a high-level of instructional leadership with a positive school climate to foster greater commitment and stronger relationships with the community, parents, and students.

About Us:

Largo High School is one of several high schools in the Prince George’s County School District. Largo High School is located at 505 Largo Road Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Our school's colors are navy blue, white and silver/grey. Our athletic teams are known as the Lions with Leon the Lion as our mascot. Our principal, Dr. Afie Mirshah-Nayar oversees this school that serves approximately 800 students in grades 9 through 12.
