Worship in Churches of Christ centers around five items, the same as in the first-century Church. These items are: singing, praying, preaching, giving, and partaking of the Lord's Supper. We believe that in these five areas of worship the New Testament pattern is very important. Our worship must contain the following three elements:
It must be directed to the right object . . . God.
It must be prompted by the right spirit (John 4:24).
It must be according to truth.
One of the things people most frequently notice about the Churches of Christ is that we sing without the use of mechanical instruments of music -- a cappella singing is the only music used in our worship. Here again this practice is patterned after the first-century Church (Eph 5:19).
Another wonderful thing about the Lassen Street Church of Christ is our diversity of ages and race. Our Church includes seniors and little ones as well as a wonderful mix of all races. It is with this in mind that a true "Church family" atmosphere can exist. Everyone is a working member of our "Church family" at the Lassen Street Church of Christ.
The Lassen Street Church of Christ is a well-established congregation, founded in Vallejo in 1942. The Church is shepherded by four Elders and served by four Deacons
