The League's Mission
The League of Women Voters, a national non-partisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Its dual mission today is
-to expand citizen participation in the election process and in federal, state, and local government decision making
-to secure public policies that promote League positions based on member participation and agreement. Founded as a women's organization in 1920, it is now open to membership by all citizens of voting age.
