In a nutshell, the mission of League is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government. League is particularly concerned with issues arising from local, state or national needs. When an issue is identified, League studies it in-depth -- usually over a period of one or more years -- before agreeing on a consensus position. Once consensus is reached the League takes action in the form of efforts to inform, build public opinion and influence the legislature.
