About Us:
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. League positions are based on member consensus following a process of thorough study.
Although strictly non-partisan, neither supporting nor endorsing candidates for any political office, the League is wholeheartedly political. It works to influence public policy through education, lobbying, and advocating our positions on issues we have studied. Therefore, contributions to the League of Women Voters are not tax-deductible.
The League of Women Voters works at the national, state, and local levels through more than a thousand communities in all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
The Wilton LWV is governed by a Board that includes committee chairpersons and contact people for specific League activities. We offer discussion/speakers on specific topics of local, state, or national interest. We welcome new members...and, remember, the LWV is not for women only!
