Our Lions Club is a member of Lions Clubs International and is comprised of ordinary men and women who strive to make a difference  by serving  our community.

We were sponsored by the Quarryville PA Lions Club and were chartered on Monday, June 13, 1932.  Since our inception, we have been the proud sponsors of The Perryville MD Lions Club, the Port Deposit MD Lions Club, the North East MD Lions Club and the Conowingo MD Lions Club.  Our Lions Club is currently organized as a Non-Profit, 501(c)(4) Social Welfare Organization and is incorporated within the State of Maryland.  Our Rising Sun Lions Club Foundation is organized as a Non-Profit, 501(c)(3) Organization and is also incorporated within the State of Maryland.

Contributions or gifts to The Lions Club of Rising Sun, Inc. are NOT Tax Deductible for U.S. Federal Income Tax purposes; however, contributions or gifts to The Rising Sun Lions Club Foundation, Inc. ARE Tax Deductible for U.S. Federal Income Tax purposes, to the extent permitted by law.

Our primary mission is the prevention of blindness and in that effort, we raise funding for Research, Detection and Treatment of Vision Disorders, and we support our fellow citizens and our community in many other ways.
