About Us
The Scarborough Lions' Club started and manned the first rescue in the state of Maine, and we have purchased several of the first Rescue vehicles for the town. All funds raised by the Lions Club are given back to the community. For example, we will provide eyeglasses and/or hearing aids to those who otherwise could not afford them. The Fire Chief has been entrusted with a fund to assist anyone in Scarborough who is burned out by fire. The Lions were responsible for starting Little League in Scarborough, as well as sponsoring Boy Scout Troop #39. The Quest Program currently used in our school system is a Lions International Program and supported locally by the Lions Club. A $2,000 scholarship is awarded each year in the name of a deceased member.
