Our CSA boxes try to strike a balance between popular favorites and rarer heirloom varieties of vegetables that you won't find in supermarkets. Some of our signature vegetables include: baby salad greens, gorgeous beets, heirloom, roma and cherry tomatoes, green and purple beans, garlic, as well as the ever popular broccoli, sweet corn, and watermelons. Salad greens or lettuce is included in nearly every box, except for August, along with garlic and onions. We build from there to include a total of 8-15 different produce items each week delivered in a 3/4 bushel box. Everything is certified organic, freshly picked within 24 hours of receiving your box, and locally grown!! Each CSA member receives a detailed weekly "Loonletter" with farm news, information and profiles of vegetables, and most importantly, recipes and tips on what to do with everything. Farm tours, u-pick, and extra produce offered for our members throughout the season.

Loon Organics is a certified organic farm growing specialty vegetables and herbs. We have been farming for 7 years, and moved in the fall of 2008 to our own 40-acre organic farm in Hutchinson, MN (70 miles west of Minneapolis). In the 2011 season we expect to have around 150 CSA subscriptions. Long Lake and Hutchinson locations still have shares. Our Minneapolis and Chanhassen sites are full, but spots occasionally open up--please e-mail us to get on our waiting list for 2011-12. You can visit us at the Mill City Farmers Market in Minneapolis on Saturday mornings beginning early May!
