Our Mission is to love and worship God.
To build a church family where people know one another deeply, care for one another in love, and help one another obey and serve Jesus.
To work together to demonstrate and declare Jesus Christ to our lost world, especially through proclaiming the Gospel in a culturally relevant way locally and abroad.
We hold orthodox evangelical beliefs including the Trinity; the deity of Christ; the sinfulness of mankind; Jesus' substitutionary atoning death; justification by faith alone; the authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of Scripture; and Jesus' second coming.
In the late 1970s, Lord of Life Church (then called Indiana Christian Fellowship) began from a small prayer and praise meeting and group Bible study, meeting in cramped accommodations at an area hotel. Brent Detwiler, having just returned to Indiana after graduating from seminary, accepted the position as the new church's first pastor in 1980.
Lord of Life Church met in a fellowship hall rented from another local church. In 1992, the church moved to its present location, about a half mile south of IUP campus on Wayne Avenue.
